:: Seeing Signs :: |
|
Are you the
kind of person that sees Signs…sees
miracles? I know I am. I just saw it the other night, in fact. I’m
speaking of course about M Night Shyamalan’s 2002 thriller about faith,
family, and alien invasion. Considering the proximity of its airing to this
unfolding Phoenix Lights Part Deux business, I can’t help but smile at
the coincidence. Or, as Mel
Gibson put it, “Is it possible that there are no
coincidences?”… If you haven’t been keeping on top of this story,
you can read all about it Here.
Of note, be sure to check out the raw home video footage and the still image
slideshow of the mysterious lights. When I saw the thumbnail preview of the video, I
immediately thought of the fake news footage in Signs showing the alien craft appearing over Mexico. In the
context of the film, the lights brought an ominous sense of dread—like
they were a doomsday harbinger. In contrast, this real-life example has me
feeling more hopeful and excited about things. As regular
readers will recall, I had my own close encounter with a UFO
back in March. I went on to Seth Shostak is a week later as most likely a
helicopter, so my desire to see something authentically anomalous has been
greater than usual. It was great, upon seeing this new video footage, to once
again feel the same sense of wonderment and awe that I experienced standing
out in the cold with my eyes to the sky as I watched a low-flying helicopter
for 15 minutes. In a mundane world, 4 points of light in the night sky can
be just what you need to boost one’s spirit. Moreover, I’m excited about the possibilities this
sighting will bring to the world of Ufology. For years, I have been hoping
for another Phoenix Lights type even to give the field some much needed fresh
blood…I just wasn’t expecting my wish to be granted to literally.
I wasn’t as active a follower of modern Ufology at
the time of the original Phoenix Lights case, so unfortunately wasn’t
paying a whole lot of attention when it all went down. The only UFO events
I’ve been able to really get behind are those drone pictures and the
occasional flap of increased sightings. Should this story turn out to be
something on par with the ’97 lights, I intend to be all over it like a
beard on Jim Marrs’ face. Stay tuned. |
